Hey girls! As promised, I did a Two Strand Twist Out over the weekend and I was pleased with the results (if I do say so myself). Couldn’t take very nice pics, though so I almost did not share but hopefully you guys will be able to see the results from the photos I did take (need a camera. And maybe a professional photographer. Smh)
-Cowashed my hair with As I Am Coconut Cowash.
-Did a protein condition using Palmer’s Deep Conditioning Protein Pack (this temporarily strengthens your hair by coating the strand while moisturizing it. Not same thing as a protein treatment (check out this this blog post for differences)
-Then did a DC using the ORS Replenishing Conditioner. I did go to the salon this time. Lol. Sat under the drier 30mins for each condition and did a wash between them.
-Rinsed my hair with cold water and sat down to do the twists. In hand I had my leave-in in a spritz bottle (currently containing a little Alberto Balsam Raspberry Conditioner and water) and Afroliciouske Shea Butter.
Used some Afroliciouske Sesame Seed Oil in my oil spritzer as a sealant before starting the twist out(benefits of sesame seed oil for your hair here)
-This was a Shea Butter Only Twist Out because as I have mentioned before, I do not like the crunch Eco Styler leaves on my hair. And I looove Shea Butter. It’s a great styler, moisturizer and sealant. I use it for my skin and my hair.
Twist Outs are best done on damp hair so if your hair dries out during, use some leave-in to dampen it.
(Twist-Out Game Strong:D:D Best twists I’ve managed to make thus far)
-Make sure your hair is completely dry when taking down your twist outs to avoid frizz. I left mine in for most of Saturday afternoon and night and took them down on Sunday, mid-morning.
-When taking them down I spritzed them with a little sesame seed oil and applied some on my finger tips, unravelling them gently from tip to root.
They turned out great (if I do say so myself😆😆) See pics for evidence.
This was immediately post take down (left pic before I took a shower and put some lipstick on for a pic) My curls were really well defined. And shiny 🙂
I like my hair a bit less ‘neat’ so I split the curls up and used a wide tooth comb to make it bigger and a bit untamed. End result..
I hope y’all can see it. I loved the result. Curl definition on fleek. Gonna rock this for the rest of the week. Will try to take daily pics to see how it holds up and share that with you, plus how I take care of it (hope I can take better pics)
